100 Keto Days Challenge: Week 2 weigh in!

Hi guys!

Many of you know on October 16th I started my second “round” of 100 keto days. Uh, what does that mean? It means I’m committing myself to eating a ketogenic diet for 100 days straight.

The first week, I discovered that my body is LOVING a diet with 25 total carbs, and 85+% fat. I lost 8.5 pounds in that first week. I decided to continue that trend this week, except I challenged myself to eat dairy free as well!

This week I enjoyed lots of nuts, discovered the joys of cacao butter, and had some delicious meat and salmon (all of which are featured over on my Instagram). Dairy free is a challenge but definitely not impossible. I substituted my creamer for almond milk, butter for ghee or coconut oil, and just removed cheese all together.

Removing dairy really helped me eat a “cleaner” version of keto. Literally just meat, veggies, oils, and nuts. I actually enjoyed dairy free so much this week that I’m going to see how it helps over the next week.

Anyway, onto the weigh in. This week I lost 4.3 pounds. I’m absolutely shocked and thrilled about this number. It’s been really smooth sailing eating this much fat because I’m rarely ever hungry.

Most days I stayed around 25 total carbs, and made sure 85% of my calories we’re from fat. Again, this seems to be my bodies sweet spot! You can view all my food logs for the week on My Fitness Pal.

This week, I will continue to be dairy free, stick to 25 total carbs, and 85% fat to see how my body continues to like it. Additionally, I’m really trying to be mindful of when I’m actually hungry or not. This week I will only be eating when I have actual hunger cues, and not just eating because it’s time to. I should also note during this past few weeks I haven’t been concerned with the amount of calories I’m consuming. I’ve been anywhere from 900 to 2400 calories in a day. I will continue to log all my food for the week but I do not have a specific calorie limit or goal.

Tell me below: what are your goals this week?

I absolutely love this challenge and that you’re finding it so easy! How do you do when you eat at restaurants? That’s always my Achilles heel.

Hi Zerocarb! I usually try to review the menu before we go. Typically I’ll eat nearly almost zero carb until dinner and then have something low carb approved. As far as dairy… I’m not sure yet as I haven’t eaten out in the last week!

I love this! I am also easing into dairy free. I just started one week ago, although my weight is fluctuating a little bit. Lost 8 in five days then gained 3 the past couple days. Is this normal?

How do you up your fat without upping your calories so much? I’m trying to stay around 1400 or 1500 calories a day
